Fitness day

Last Friday, we had fitness and we did the modified beep test. Boy, that was a challenge! I thought I could did well but I could of done better. First of all, it wasn't the best day to wear those sweats because they we're so loose that when I was running they kept on falling down my waist. Second I ate a cheeseburger, forgetting that I had fitness that day. So when I was running all I felt was that cheeseburger coming up my throat and the after taste of it while I was running. On top of that, it was Halloween the day before, leaving me with a sugar rush and a stomach ache after the beep test. What I was proud of myself was that I never attempted to quit. Sure I was thirsty and exhausted but I never gave up. When we were at level 14 things got too hectic. I tried my best to keep going but the most that I sat out for was 4 beeps but I kept going by trying to only miss 2 beeps. I thought of a pattern towards the end by resting for a maximum of 2 beeps then sprinting across to the other side. I was so exhausted at the end, but it felt rewarding. I had a love hate relationship with this activity, but I got through it. I could barely breathe for the first bit after I completed the 20 levels but I drank some water to feel better. Before we were allowed to change Nadia, Paige and I started to stretch so we could prevent our bodies from getting sore the next day. I would love to do this activity again for fitness because its challenging, you can't back down, it gets your adrenaline pumped, and it really tests your ability to keep going.

  1. Great post Sukhleen. I could tell that you were really trying on the extended beep test - I love that you challenged yourself and felt good about your effort. It is supposed to be hard! That's what makes you feel good about completing it!
